ReVamp is the solo project of the stellar front woman Floor Jansen who is currently the lead singer of Finnish Goth/Power metal superstars, Nightwish and prior to that was the lead singer of the awesome Dutch symphonic metal band, After Forever.

Floor has already put out two fantastic albums under the ReVamp moniker but this is her first North American outing with that project so we were very excited that she was one of the "special guests" that Iced Earth brought on tour with them this time around.

Her latest album is "Wild Card" and she started off the set with the title track from it. It is an epic anthem that illustrates exactly what this style of music is all about and who she is as a song writer as well.

Floor has a huge charisma that exudes as soon as she takes the stage. She is at once feminine and sweet but also powerful and majestic with her voice and form. She wore a sexy red dress and huge smile which immediately enticed screams and yells as she walked out.

Her ensemble included two guitarists, a bassist, drummer and keyboard player so it has a full force assault being at once melodic and symphonic yet crunching and metal to the bone and a perfect example why this is one of my favorite styles of music.

For their second song they did "The Anatomy of a Nervous Breakdown: The Limbic System", which is quite a mouthful for a song title but illustrates Floor's penchant for out of the ordinary subject matter and her intelligent way of doing so. This is but one part of the "Anatomy" trilogy of songs on this album and part of the emotions being expressed.

For her third song she did my favorite track off of ReVamp's self titled debut album, "Head Up High", which is an immensely powerful song of self empowerment and fuel for inner strength.

The "Anatomy of a Nervous Breakdown:Neurasthenia" followed and gave us another part of the "Anatomy" trilogy found on the latest album.

Being an opening act, time is far too short and we were already nearing the close of the set. We got to hear "In Sickness 'Till Death Do Us Part: Disdain" off her first record and then to finish up her set she did "Wolf and Dog" off of "Wild Card".

It was an amazing show and the audience cheered and chanted for more but there was no encore for opening slots so Floor promised she would return soon and give us more ReVamp.
