Hypocrisy Live at 1720 Los Angeles, CA May 15th, 2022 Review and photos by Travis Baumann Hypocrisy turn thirty years old this year and come to North America to celebrate with the "Worship" tour. Bearing the name of their latest release, the Swedish melodic death metal act have attained legendary status for good reason. Helmed by Peter Tägtgren known for his amazing studio work, multiple projects in the metal and industrial genres, and down right incredible musicianship, the band marks a dozen studio albums with this release. Joining Peter on stage are Mikael Hedlund on bass guitar, Thomas Elofsson on guitar, and Henrik Axelsson on drums. Peter also plays guitar as well as handling the vocal duties. Their set list on this night was impressively massive, touching upon nearly every release and giving several songs off a few select releases including "Worship". The venue on the south-east side of Downtown was packed, and the energy was through the roof with three amazing bands having preceded Hypocrisy taking the stage. They of course crushed it, bringing seventeen songs to the roaring crowd and hitting just about every song anyone could wish for. Set list: Worship Fire in the Sky Mind Corruption Eraser Inferior Devoties Chemical Whore Until the End Don't Judge Me End of Disclosure Weed Out the Weak Children of the Gray War-Path The Final Chapter Encore: Fractured Millennium Impotent God Adjusting the Sun Roswell 47 |
